In 1973 the Waterfront staff undertook the camp's first co-ed canoe trip, but it only went 1.5 days because of rain (scheduled to finish the trip in 3 days and paddle right into the camp's beach). The trip started in Narrowsburg, NY,and we proceeded to hit huge thunder storms a few hours into the trip. That night, we camped outside of Lackawaxen, PA. Some of us slept in an empty train box car (which tracks ran parallel to the river) because all of our gear was wet or destroyed. We also walked into Lackawaxen to buy dry supplies. The store owner accused someone (?) of stealing kitchen matches and called the Sheriff. I think Alan Greenberg talked us out of the situation. The next day we called the camp and were picked up by the RED Truck in Barryville. At the time it sucked, but looking back on it now, well it still sucked!
